The exhibition marks Bjørlo's first exhibition with Brigade and introduces a new body of work. On view will be a series of large scale abstract paintings on canvas, alongside smaller works with figurative silhouettes in oil, layered with wax and glass.
Bjørlo (b. 1986, Norway) approaches painting as a space where rhythm, composition, and plane coexist. His works are not images but states where possibilities take form. Across his practice, distinctions between abstraction and figuration dissolve into a single project. The paintings unfold as inner landscapes, at once open and closed, where presence and absence collide. Here, the painted surface extends beyond itself, reflecting on the very process of its own becoming.
